For a few years now I’ve had this setup as the default page on an internal web box I maintain.  As you can see, it runs Apache and PHP.  Things we don’t do here.  But it doesn’t cause problems and no one has time to rewrite the little PHP web app so it can be hosted properly, so my web box lives on.
This afternoon I get a call from the network engineering manager telling me he’s lost.
He asked if I would help him.
I said no.
He called me a jerk.
And then he told me about this spiffy new tool they were playing with that finds network devices.  And then I had to explain the Apache/PHP web box that was just hanging out on the production network.
