Day 1: Half Moon Bay
There was driving. About 500 miles of it. Much of it up I-5 through central California (also known as the longest stretch of road in California without a single interesting thing in sight). Hit a nice lightning show around San Jose, and pouring rain on and off once it got dark. But that’s over, and tomorrow the vacation portion of this trip begins.
