BJ Thomas - Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
If you’ve been following along for a while, you may have gleaned that I spent some time growing up in a quaint small town in rural eastern Oregon. While it had its distinct, umm, qualities, it wasn’t all bad…like the time we started an internationally renowned VW camping society. That was fun.
In 1997, email mailing lists were among the most popular social networks on the Internet. A discussion on one Volkswagen-centric mailing list spawned a post-labor day VW campout at the state park just up the road.

It was generally agreed that the get-together was a good idea, and that an encore was in order. Between the bus tours and campfire stories that weekend, WetWesties was born. Having settled on an appropriate name for their new club, the charter members second and final act of business was to designate BJ Thomas’ ditty as their anthem. And so it goes.
Today – literally, right now – my parents are up at that state park hosting the 15th annual WetWesties reunion. Spiffy.
